First league double of the season?
The Crows will travel to the Badger Sports Ground on Saturday hoping to secure their first league double of the season against Cray Valley (PM), having beaten them 4-3 at home back in October, Treleaven, Carrington (2) and Ridley with the goals.
Our hosts did not play when we were playing their tenants, Erith Town, on Saturday as their home game against Rochester United fell foul of the rain which came down overnight and was therefore postponed.
At the time of writing, we sit fourteenth in the table, Cray Valley sit in fifteenth, we have 19 points they have 17 points, both from 15 games, although they are due to play away at Beckenham Town on Wednesday night, so depending on the result they could be below us having played a game more if they lose or draw or above us by 1 point should they win.
We all have to hope that the rain is not as heavy this week as it's not the best draining pitch in the league and of course, we'll have to content with the slope as well, however, we do have a respectable record when playing at the Badger Sports Ground last season so let's hope that continues on Saturday.

FACILITIES AND ENTRANCE FEE
What you’ll find at Badgers Sports Ground. Badgers is situated in Middle Park Avenue, South East London, located just off the “Yorkshire Grey” roundabout on Westhorne Avenue, part of the busy London South Circular Road. Just a few minutes from the A2, the roundabout is named as a fond remembrance by locals of the Yorkshire Grey pub which stood nearby for many years before being turned into a McDonalds Restaurant.
There is a large, free car park on site and bus route 160, which runs between Sidcup and Catford Bridge railway stations, stops right outside the main gates (Eltham Green School stops). Eltham High Street is close by with its many and varied shops and well served transport links.
The entrance to the light, airy and air conditioned clubhouse is accessed from the car park, and is outside of the football ground and supporters requiring a drink before the match, would be advised not to enter the ground first! The bar is fully licensed to serve alcoholic drinks as well as tea, coffee, soft drinks and bar snacks. Large screen TV’s show live sport, including Premier League fixtures.
The stadium entrance is close to the clubhouse and entry to the ground is £8 for adults, which includes the match programme, while Over 60’s and Students, are £5. This concession price does NOT include a programme. Under 16’s, when accompanied by an adult, are admitted free!
There is uncovered hard standing on 3 sides of the pitch while the area behind the top goal, by the Quaggy River, is unused and supporters are advised NOT to stand in this area.
The Club Tea Bar can be found in the Middle Park Avenue corner of the ground, just beyond the entrance to the Members Bar, and serves a range of hot food, drinks and snacks. You can also order drinks from the bar from here but it’s probably best if you nip in to the Members Bar to purchase alcohol while the match is in progress. The Tea Bar usually closes once the half time rush has been served.
Access from the ground to the main clubhouse is usually available just before the half time whistle for you to grab a drink and catch up with the latest scores from across the country on the TV’s.
Supporters can take drinks outside of the clubhouse and into the ground, except during FA Competition matches, and your involvement in the match is fully expected – from behind the pitch side barriers of course! But please remember, we are a family club and Cray Valley (PM) FC fully supports the Kent FA’s “Swearing – Let’s Tackle It” campaign.
