Expect a tough game.
Rochester United visit the Crowborough Community Stadium on Saturday currently sitting in 19th place in the SCEFL Premier Division having played 17 games, winning 1, drawing 3 and losing the rest. They have scored 18 times and conceded 44 goals and have so far accumulated 6 points out of a possible 55.
Whilst we are currently occupying 4th spot in the table with 30 points from our 15 games, no one should think this will be an easy game for the Crows, especially the players, as we all know there are no easy games in any league and any team is capable of beating anyone on their day, it only takes a bit of luck, a refereeing decision or complacency on the higher positioned side for that to happen.
The Rede Court Road outfit recently appointed joint managers on the 6th November, Paul Gross and Darren Anslow taking the reins with the club in serious relegation trouble. Matt Hume was the manager for the first 8 games of the season but with no wins, three draws and five defeats, he was replaced by Ian Varley, unfortunately, he was not able to improve things in his 9 games in charge, winning only 1 and losing the other 8.
Gross and Anslow know they have a big task ahead of them if they are to get the club higher up the table and avoid relegation but you can imagine what they'll be telling their players in the dressing room on Saturday and what better way to start a recovery than beating a side in the top four.
The match kicks off at 3:00pm, admission for adults is £8, concessions are £4, Under 16's are £1, unless they are accompanied by a paying adult, if they are, they enter FREE OF CHARGE. A16-page full-colour programme cost just £1.
There's a cash raffle people can enter by buying a ticket or tickets, the Crow Arms will be open and the Top Nosh tea and food bar will also be available. Why not come down and see non-league football at its best.
