Tough game in prospect.
The Crows travel to play Lordswood FC at Martin Grove on Saturday for a tough game on paper. The home side have been in and around the top of the division since the start of the season which, for some, means they are one of the surprise teams of this campaign.
Whilst their form may have dipped slightly of late, having won only once in their last six matches, a cup game at home to Fisher FC, they will still offer the Crows stiff opposition on the day. They've lost their last two league games, both away from home, losing 3-1 at Cray Valley PM and 3-0 to leaders Sevenoaks Town on Tuesday evening.
They went out of the FA Vase in the last round, losing 1-0 at home to Bracknell Town and also exited the SCEFL Challenge Cup by losing 3-0 at home to Sheppey United, a team they beat at home 1-0 in the league back in early November.
However, past results and performances, good or bad, count for nothing and it's about which team plays the best and wants it more on the day as to who'll win this fixture. The Crows know they will have to be at their best to get anything from this game so let's hope they come back with the points.
The Crows might be up against a former player too, as Jason Hollick plays for Lordswood, although he did sign for Ashford United back in October, but was involved as a substitute for Lordswood at Cray Valley PM and started against Sevenoaks Town.
It might be Christmas soon and the season of goodwill to all men and all of that however, both teams need the points so the Christmas cheer may be in short supply for 90 minutes on Saturday.
