Most important game.
As we all know your most important game is your next one, especially if you lost your last match, so this game is the Crows most important one to win. Add the fact that both clubs are trying to chase down the league leaders, Sevenoaks Town, and currently sit level on the same points total, with the Crows in second place and the visitors in third. Therefore, both clubs will want to win this game and a draw will probably not please either team.
The Crows will be looking to avenge a 1-0 defeat they suffered when they played Whitstable Town away earlier in the season in a very competitive match, a match where it's probably fair to say that neither club was impressed by the performance of the match officials during the 90 minutes.
Our visitors are on a long unbeaten run at the moment, their last defeat coming against Cray Valley PM at home, 2-1, on 16th December 2017. Since then they have played 20 league and cup games without suffering a defeat, something we know about of course from last season when we went 30-odd games without defeat, whilst it's great to be on such a run, it does bring extra pressure on to the team.
The visitors recently won the Kent Reliance Senior Trophy by beating fellow SCEFL Premier Division side Sheppey United FC, 2-1 after extra-time and they are also in to another final of course when they take on our conquerors, Tunbridge Wells FC in the SCEFL Challenge Cup Final in May.
Quite often when you're involved in a promotion or relegation battle, the games against your rivals is often critical in determining the eventual outcome. The long unbeaten run they're on at present includes that home victory over us and a home victory against Sevenoaks Town but like us they lost when they visited the Oaks back in September.
Therefore, the Crows need to step up and get positive home results in their games against their nearest opponents, starting in this match of course and in the last of the season against Sevenoaks Town, these results will go along way to determining where we ultimately finish in the league.
There should be a good crowd in attendance and with both teams needing to win, there should be some exciting, attacking football played.
Admission £8 adults, £4 concessions, U16's £1 - FREE if accompanied by a paying adult. A 16-page, full-colour programme is £1. Turnstiles open at 6:30pm, as does the Top Nosh Tea Bar and the Crow Arms. We look forward to seeing you all.
